Two-story residence with a caved section in Elounda, Agios Nikolaos. The client assigned the design of a residence on a plot of land with a peculiar terrain, which we incorporated into our design through the caved section. The main living spaces, like the living room and the kitchen can be found on the ground floor. Large openings running along the walls allow for a connection between the interior and the exterior, which includes an outdoor lounge, outdoor dining area and a pool. The bedrooms with their respective bathrooms can be found in the caved section of the residence and on the second floor. The second floor is surrounded by a wrap-around balcony which allows for visual connectivity with the outdoor space. Through the use of natural, local materials and regional plants we aim to achieve a high degree of integration of the building in the natural landscape while simultaneously highlighting the region's natural beauty.
