The aim of the project was to redesign the gym and pool areas of the Nana Golden Beach Hotel at Hersonissos, Heraklion, Crete. The main area of the gym takes up about 370 sq.m., the reception measures around 150 sq.m., the spa 180 sq.m., and the pools measure 11x25 m. and 11x13 m. (kids' pool). The gym is completed with its auxiliary spaces, the waiting area, the locker rooms and the storage room. The spa consists of two treatment rooms, one scrub room, and one sauna room with steam therapy, a water paradise, a relax area and an emotional shower. The gym and pool areas are visually connected through the large openings in the gym and the balcony overlooking the pools. Even though the facilities are located below ground level, the courtyard which ends at the pools' level provides enough natural lighting and ventilation.
